Zoe in Her Sweetness

Zoe is a happy baby for the most part. The only time she loses it is when she's hungry or is being passed around by strangers. She loves to sit with her hands folded in her lap and observe everyone and smile. She doesn't require the action and fireworks Aaron did (and still does). Aaron loved to be passed around from stranger to stranger on his one and only plane ride at 6 months old. He wanted to see whose eye he could catch and what reaction he could cause in them. Ha! Could there ever be two children in the same household more different than these two? =)

Big Brother Helping

I took the kids up to Atlanta for a few days during Tropical Storm Fay, and Aaron thought the whole trip was planned to give him a great time. He was so excited every day of the visit, and these are some examples of what he did with his time.

He found his highchair not fastened to a chair, and hopped in, locked his safety belt the best he could (one side), and locked the tray in place, waiting for me to bring him some breakfast...by the way, he did all that without losing his favorite basketball and his little basketball and I'm not sure how he did that! I saw how cute he looked, sitting there with a hope of breakfast coming soon, so I put some bagel pieces on his tray and he dug right in.

Zoe thinks her big brother is her hero! Here, you can see Aaron trying repeatedly to keep the "plug" in Zoe's mouth, but she keeps on smiling at him; thus it keeps popping out.

Basketball Boy

Aaron loves to play basketball - passing, shooting, the works! He loses all focus of anything else when he's playing. If it doesn't have to do with basketball, then it's a waste of time. He loves his game!

Aaron's Animal Sounds

Aaron likes to make animal noises these days. However, he doesn't think the "ribbit" sound for a froggy makes the cut. He's replaced it with a little rendition of his own. He's also been practicing saying his name, and Zoe's name is no longer "Sissy" (which you won't see on the video), but "GeeGee" (with a G sound, not a J sound). He likes the way it sounds better than Sissy, and he likes to say GeeGee with a mischevious grin and almost a laugh. Man, he's cute! =)

Zoe's Appointment

Zoe was a good little girl during her appointment today. Her skull was measured at several different points and overall the visit was better than hoped for. The end result was that we bring Zoe back for another visit on September 5th to measure her head again. If, at that point, there has been little or no change, then Zoe's head will get casted and she'll start wearing a helmet within two weeks of the casting. Apparently, the window of opportunity is between 4 and 6 months, so we still have some time to see if Zoe's head will correct itself before resorting to a correctional helmet. Thanks so much for your prayers and support during this time of uncertainty!! We'll keep you posted.

What We Do All Day Long

Aaron plays ball all day long.

This particular ball stays with Aaron while he eats at his highchair, takes a ride in the van, and even while he's sitting on the can. As you can see here, he loves to yell "Yeah!" about anything that's going his way. =)

Zoe is still giving out smiles like she's made of sugar.

And she's working on getting her back and neck muscles strong like her big brother's. We found out a couple things at Zoe's four month check up. First of all, this baby girl is in the 75th percentile weight-wise!! She loves her milk! Second, we found out she has Positional Plagiocephaly. All this means is that her soft little skull is not becoming round, but staying flat, and becoming flatter. It's starting to push one side of her forehead forward. After doing further research and speaking with others, it seems fairly common and easy to treat since the pediatrician caught it so early. Friday, we'll go for an Orthotic/Prosthetic appointment and see about getting a Cranial Remolding Helmet for her head. We'll find out more details on Friday, but it sounds like she'd wear it for up to a year or so, while her moldable skull is still soft, in order to round out her head. We'll have a much better idea of what we're dealing with after her appointment on Friday. Updates on this to come.

My New Trick

So up until now, Zoe's "trick" has been jumping in the Jumperoo and smiling. Today, she's decided she likes to roll over. If you have the patience to view it, you can see it for yourself. You can even hear Aaron cheering for her once she's rolled over. Enjoy! =)

Cute Kiddos

Aren't these the cutest little size 1 feet you've ever laid eyes on? Thanks for the beach shoes, Aunt Ellen!

Zoe has been starting to drool a lot lately, no doubt getting herself ready for the never-ending season of teething.

Sleepy Zoe with Daddy after her bedtime bath.

Looks like Daddy and son have something in common, eh?
